About Us

My name is Matt Heywood and after graduating from Loughborough University, I spent over 20 years in the Automotive Industry working in Safety, Aerodynamics & Vehicle Engineering.

​Cycling has been my passion since childhood providing transport, joy and freedom.  Since then, I have enjoyed most forms of cycling including Commuting, Touring, Racing (incuding representing GB at several Triathlon World Championships) and most importantly, Just Riding (see Palmares).

​

I also love bicycles and have owned hundreds of them over the years.  I’m currently trying to reduce my obsession to the optimal n = 5 (see My Bikes).

​

Having risen to the position of Chief Engineer, I reflected that I had experienced and achieved almost everything I ever wanted to in my Engineering Career.  Time for a change.

“What do I love?”, I asked myself. 

The answer was Bikes, People and Challenge.
